Post by: pitair on October 23, 2002, 01:47:53 PM
I have a sme 5.5 with pc and mac. My pb is about my ftp server with mac users because with pc i have no problem.

Mac user put files in ftp sme server. then I get the file I a mac on my lan. But If they don't save the file extension (like .ai for illustrator) and transform in a mac binary file before using ftp transmit, I can't open the files because there is no link between file and soft (like illustrator)

Please help
Thanks

That's just an issue with Mac / PC interoprability.
Either get your Mac users to save with an extension, or get your PC users to type an asterisk then Enter in the File Name box so they can see the Mac files in order to open them.
AFAIK there's nothing else you can do.
Being a PC boy, though, I'd go spank those lazy Mac users .
