Anyone using an "alcatel speed touch home" with e-smith ?
My mate wants to run e-smith but I've never set it up on adsl.
Any help or experience appreciated.

Hi there,

I'm using an Alcatel Speed Touch Home (Ethernet) using PPPOE and SME is really easy to install... Just boot on the SME's CD and answer the questions...
If you've got a more precise question to ask, just do...

Is this the USB ADSL modem? (We call it "the frog" in the UK)?

If so then this is the Howto for it:

Look at my links page to find this sort of thing:

Cheers

you will find that it works perfectly with your modem, select pppoe as the protocol during the setup, add your user name and password and you will be up and running within a few minutes of finishing the install.

Haha, we call it "the manta ray" in France... Guess why !!! <;o)))
Actually it's called Speed Touch USB and not Speed Touch Home...

Thanks for the advice everyone....I guess I should fire up a server and see !!
My e-smith runs like a dream, I laugh at the "guru's" at work spending months coding slacky to do what e-smith does out-of-the-box !!
