hmm...I suppose that you try to access to hotmail with pop3. Hotmail only supports webmail or somthing that looks like pop within the latest version of outlook.
I have no idea if yahoo supports pop3.
good luck

Yahoo! charges a $29.00 yearly fee for POP access.

I think they are saying that they aren't getting email from outside the domain.
No outside email is coming in? Correct? Or your attempting to retrieve email from hotmail and yahoo?
My esmith is having a similar problem. Internal email is working, but emails from outside the system aren't coming in, even though public/published access is enabled.
Is this a firewall issue? I'm using a cisco PIX instead of the firewall software in e-smith.
I noticed an error in documentation too? The server manager said my webmail was: http://'server-name.domainname/webmail
BUT the actual path that works is: http://servername/webmail
Trial and error....I suppose..

Acually I have the same problem. I have found that the SMTP port is not open from the outside so mail can not get delivered from outside.
I think it worked fine before i upgraded to update 2, but I have just started trying to use it.
Thanks in advance.

To answer my own question.
I think (not 100% sure) somewhere between installing 5.5 and after applying update 2, Inbound SMTP gets disabled when you are in Private-Server & Gateway mode.
If I reconfigure to server-gateway, inbound SMTP is enabled.
I would prefer to run in private-server mode with inbound SMTP enabled.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to acheive this.
Thanks and regards,
Malc.
