Title: The specified network name is no longer available.
Post by: Rob on November 04, 2002, 04:46:46 AM
I have SME 5.5.  When copying files from a win 2000 machine to the server I can transfer 1, sometimes 2, files before the message "Cannot copy : The specified network name is no longer available." comes up on screen.

I can no longer access the server from the win 2k machine. I have no other machines connected to see if they have a connection.

I can still log into the server directly and reboot but it will take forever to copy the files to it this way.

I am a complete newbie and don't know what log files I should look at to solve this.

I would be grateful for any advice anyone can give.

Regards

Rob

Just an afterthought.  When I am copying files to the server the collision light on the hub lights up for the duration of the transfer.

Could this be related?
