Title: Virus Scanners for SME
Post by: Bob Todd on November 07, 2002, 03:58:27 AM
Looking to run SME v5.5 as server solution in the school I run IT support for and looks great so far but I still need to track a "free" or "cheap" virus scanning solution that will protect our servers. Any recommendations?

Try clamav

I have installed clamav from the howto at pagefault.org and it works perfect. But there is a problem with it. If you try to update the virus database with "freshclam", then amavis puts all the mail in the "problems" directory. I found out that the virus database have been updated after version 0.50.

It would be great if someone have a solution to this?

Regards
Jacob

This is for 5.5 and mailfront. Is it possible to use this on <5.5?

Damien Curtain just updated the version of clamav to 0.53 on: http://www.pagefault.org/misc/

Now it is possible to update the database, thanks Damien.
