Title: e-smith-dialin-0.4-2.noarch.rpm
Post by: Stuart on November 07, 2002, 01:28:20 PM
I am using Stephen Noble's dialin e-smith-dialin-0.4-2.noarch.rpm (which works very well Thanks Stephen) & DYNDNS. The problem is that whenever I dial in the E-Smith box resets dyndns to the internal IP of my network instead of the external IP. If you reboot the E-Smith box it will set dyndns to the external IP only to be sert back to the internal IP the next time I dial in. I am useing SME 5.5. Has anyone else had this problem and if so where can I look to try to find a solution. I an hooked up to Aust. Telstra ADSL.

Why don't you change to a Static IP and get rid of dyndns. Almost all of the ISP's now are offering attractive DSL packages with static IP's. Other than that I can't really help.

Drop SME's updating of DynDNS (by rerunning the configuration script as admin) & have a client on the network do the updating.  I use, paid for & can recommend Direct Update.
