Title: Errors when rotating logs
Post by: Tom Carroll on November 11, 2002, 11:39:41 PM
I get the following e-mail once a week when the weekly cron job runs to rotate my logs:

errors occured while rotating /var/log/squid/access.log {

gzip: /var/log/squid/access.log.1.gz already exists;   not overwritten
failed to compress log /var/log/squid/access.log.1

It's not just this log file either, it's also the mail log and one other one I believe.

I recently did a complete fresh reinstall of SME 5.1.2u3 due to power problems causing the hard drive to get corrupt.  I thought this would take care of the problem...

Anyone know what could be causing these logrotate errors and how to fix them?

Thanks for any help!
