Title: changed default gateway
Post by: Ken R on November 19, 2002, 05:12:27 AM
Hi there,

I've changed the gateway on my home LAN to be a different IP. (Short term change.)

When I reboot my server-only SME 5.5 server it remembers the previous gateway's IP address.

I've worked out how to temporarily fix the route entry after a reboot (route add default gw etc) but how do I tell it about the changed IP and make it survive a reboot!  Where is the SME server storing that default gateway?

The server's IP is coming from a DHCP server in the new gateway.  That bit's working OK, but I don't understand why it doesn't get the gateway IP from the DHCP server as other other client PCs do...

TIA
Regards
Ken

How & where did you change it. You should log on as admin & change it in the server console configuration screens.

Thanks Ray,
Jeez I feel like a goose!  I totally forgot about the admin console - e-smith's too good, I've never had to reinstall to remind myself!

That's one problem fixed.
