Title: Port Forwarding
Post by: Eduardo Rivero on November 20, 2002, 06:11:30 PM
I installed ipportfw by Charly Brady. It´s function ok, but I have an ADSL connection, and when my ISP renew my IP, the system does not make a remoteaccess update.
I must do manually
Does anybody knows why?
What can I do?
Thanks
Eduardo

Are you trying to update a dynamic DNS service from a PC on the LAN? Is there a reason you can't have the server do it?

That is old and AFAIK does not support dynamic IP's.  Try my contrib:

I´m trying to install, but it conflicts with a previous installation. This is the message was given:

file /etc/e-smith/templates/etc/rc.d/init.d/masq/35SetPortFW from install of dmc-mitel-portforwarding-0.0.1-5 conflicts with file from package e-smith-ipportfw-0.1.1-1

I forget how to uninstall or remove a previous installed package

You're thinking of rpm -e.

rpm -e e-smith-ipportfw
rpm -Uvh dmc-mitel-portforwarding...
