Hi @all,
I've installed SME V 5.5 on our school server, everthink works, but I couldn't connect to the Internet. In the server is an AVM FritzPCI(2?) Card.
Has someone an idea?
I really not know why I can't connect :(
Thanks fpr help.
Bye,
Chris

Last time I ooked Germany was still in Europe. I don't think its moved.
I think the correct protocol is 2 for "Euro ISDN", though Germany may have some older lines that are DSS1 (I think). You also need to check exactky what AVM card you have. One type 27 needs the IRQ and IO address to be entered the other doesn't. Check in the logs what error messages you are getting when the system boots up.
Have you tried the "test internet connection" option in the consol setup program? What does that say?
Cheers
Dave.

..and to add to the confusion:
have a look at your 'messages' file after a reboot, and check that your card is detected and happy:
if in doubt, post the log. you want to see something that looks like this, only much more:
kernel: HiSax: Linux Driver for passive ISDN cards
kernel: HiSax: Version 3.5 (module)
kernel: HiSax: Layer1 Revision 2.41.6.1
kernel: HiSax: Layer2 Revision 2.25
kernel: HiSax: TeiMgr Revision 2.17
kernel: HiSax: Layer3 Revision 2.17.6.1
kernel: HiSax: LinkLayer Revision 2.51
etc etc..
