Title: Port Redirection and Email Server
Post by: Dan on November 21, 2002, 11:37:50 AM
Hello, a newbie question if I may.

I have a DLink ADSL router and am set up for ADSL with TPG.
I have several domains that I have delegated to my permanent IP address.
HTTP is routed to the SME server using redirection built into the DLink router.
My web services are running fine, but I cannot ping my email server (mail.ronchi.com.au), and it will not receive emails.

Any advice would be appreciated. eg. what ports (external and internal) should  I be redirecting to? Have I stuffed up my MX records in the DNS (i have just given mail.ronchi.com.au an A record and an MX record)?

Thanks

Dan

ports 25 & 110 spring to mind and I take it you set the mx records for your domain at your ISP or whoever is holding your DNS records to point to the router?
