Title: setting up a dns server

i have just been trying to setup my e-smith to be a dns server.  i am a linux newbie and the differences between e-smith and 'normal' linux is making it really difficult..

any simple answers?  docs you can point me to?

I would recommend using an alternate box for your dns.  E-Smith does not listen for public "Internet" DNS queries.  I am sure you can configure it to do so, but the good folks at Mitel, and e-smith have disabled this for a reason.  Security.

I would recommend using zoneedit.com for your dns.  Free service, plus it is away from your network.
