Title: services behind SME5.5? (newbie)
Post by: sascha on November 24, 2002, 11:10:56 AM
I use the SME5.5 only as Router/Gateway/Firewall. All other services (HTTP, APACHE, FTP) should be managed by other Servers.
How can i configure the SME that the f.e. Web-Services is done by another Server in my Network? I have in "Hostname and addresses" the www.xxx.dyndns.org set to Remote and the LocalIP to the IP of my Webserver and the GlobalIP to the SME-Router also visibility to Global. But it doesn't work.
Any Solutions?

Look at the Contribs section of this site. Locate the portfowarding module and install it.

Then forward the required ports to the other server. I think the HTTP port might require special treatment though (but I'm not sure as I've never had to do this before).

For Web servcies, search the complete archive for the ProxyPass directive.

You'll need portforwarding and for http-services proxypass.

It can be downloaded here:

AFAIK there are some problems with proxypass and sme 5.5

try contacting the author (Darrel May) first.
