Title: SCSI software raid questions
Post by: Ray on November 25, 2002, 08:50:53 PM
I have a compaq proliant 850R that I plan to use as an email and web server for a small startup ISP.  The compaq has SCSI and ide controllers but no drives at the moment.  I would like to install SME 5.5 on a RAID so if a hard drive goes bad data won't be lost and I can install a new drive and have the system start using the new drive in place of the failed one.

Can I install two (or more) drives and will SME take care of the RAID for me?  Am I limited to two drives?

Thanks,

Ray
