Title: e-mail forwarding to a hotmail account?
Post by: Richard Dols on November 26, 2002, 03:53:34 PM
Hello,

I just found e-mail forwarding to a hotmail account won't work. The message has gone to World Wide Heaven. Forwarding it to a none hotmail account works. the qmail log file doesn't show a error of any kind. The external smtp server accepts the the messages.

Has anybody the same experience, or is it just me? Is there a work arround?

Version: e-smith 5.6b1

Regards,

Dear Richard
I have sent plenty of messages to hotmail accounts from a sme server 4.1.2, 5.1.2 & 5.5 without a problem.

I have seen this when sending a email from a sme server to a yahoo account where the "bulk"mail filter was turned on. It determined that the sme IP was a junk or bulk mail sender so it trashed the message.

Either turn off the filter or
you may need to send your email via your ISP's smtp address which is hopefully not wrongly identified by "bulk email" filters as a junk mail sender.
It can be configured in Other email setting in server manager
