Has anyone got it working properly? I installed the rpm and made the corresponding changes to squid but every single site is being redirected to the banner.gif and the entire page is being replaced instead of just replacing the banner.
Any ideas?

Gotten what working right? I have never had a single problem setting up and e-smith server. You just "load and Go". Setting printers is another matter.

Gotten sleezeball working! "sleezeball" is an squid proxy redirector, principally for removing banner ads.
I'd like to see "sleezeball" (or alternative) as an optional e-smith plugin - at the moment though it is not at the top of the priority list and there are not resources to develop and test it.

I have been using squid_redirector, look for it on freshmeat, then all you do is add it to
the redirector line put in somewhere in your path and chown squid.squid squid_redirect
Everything is in one script file. It is also quite esy to understand so if you don't like his
banner replament gif of .js replacements and want to make your ow it is very easy to
set these to your own.
Also if you sign up for his mailing list he will email the script to you whenever he updates it.
Or on his web site he has instructions on how to setup an automatic update.
