hello,
i have a small network with 4 machines and the e-smith (dial-up mode). everything is ok and i´m happy with it.
but now i have 2 (small?) problems to solve:
first i want to have a log-file where the e-smith-server reports the local machines which are causing a internetconnection. i need to know that because of the telephone bill.
second i want to use the second b channel when the isdn-ta is dialing up to the isp
sorry if i´m boring someone with my questions but i´m a total novice in e-smith and linux
regards
ralf

If web access is what you wish to measure, then you can use the squid proxy logs. But they will only make sense if all of your users have their browsers set to use the proxy, or if you modify the server to automatically divert web traffic through the proxy. This is called transparent proxying, and will be available for e-smith 4.0.
Unforutnately, the server doesn't currently log other outgoing connections.

I'm sorry, I can't help you with ISDN.
