Title: rlogin suddenly stopped working
Post by: Mike Stoddart on May 10, 2000, 05:58:35 AM
All of a sudden I can't use rlogin to connect to my server from inside my lcoal network. I have telnet access set to private, and it used to work, but now when I do:

rlogin 192.168.150.1

nothing happens. I can use telnet instead, and that works fine, but not rlogin. Any ideas?

Thanks

More info:

When I try the rlogin, it eventually times out with:

connection refused

Any ideas where to look? Also Im sure I used to be able to rlogin using the machine name (crivens), which no longer works.

If you did use rlogin, it's because you made some modifications yourself. The e-smith server/gateway does not support rsh or rlogin out of the box.

*CLICK*

That must mean I've never tried to connect from Linux - always Windows with Tera Term (which I recommend)! Must be getting myself confused again!

Thanks
