Hi,
Apologies if this is a dumb question and has been covered before.....
We are in the process of taking over the hosting of mail for the Australian arm of an international company.
At present there is around 120Mb of unread mail sitting on a server in the UK which we need to import before we can go "live". I'm pretty sure they're running qmail as well (we're running SME 5.1.2). How (or where would I find instructions) on importing this mail into the correct mailboxes here? The mailboxes here have been setup identically to the UK server.
Tks for any assistance, DaveA.

If the number of mailboxes is not too large, you could use Vincent's multi-pop add in to collect all the mails for each of the users. Of course, if you have 10s or 100s of users, forget it ! You might get out the bazooka and use it on the system before you are through !

Hello Dave,
You can do it on two ways
First Way
Start Putty and conncet to the first server
start MC
You can connect whit MC to the second server whit the ftp link
Now you come out in filles off the primary.
Copy all mail directories to these directorie
Go whith putty to your seccond server
Start MC
Go to the primary\files
copy all mail folders to the right place on these server
You must have make all users all ready aktive on the second server
Second Way
Make a backup to your desk top of your first server whith the server console (only possible if your server is not bigger then 1 1-5 Gb)
Take file whith your unzip programm (winrar)
Strippe alle directories out whitout the mail directories and save it back to your desktop are local HD.
Go to the server console on your second server
restore from desktop the new file you make whith only the mail directories in it
All so her: You must have make all users all ready aktive on the second server
I have done both in the past but the first one you have it better under controll.
Goodluck

The guy in the UK wishes to know whether we are using "Maildir" or "Mailbox" format. What does he mean by this, and what format/system does qmail under SME 5.1.2 use? Tks, DaveA.
