So maybe it's a good idea to find out whats good and whats crap.
Here's my only choices.
D-Link PCI ADSL modem DSL-100D internal
D-Link ADSL modem DSL-300+ Ethernet External
NetComm ADSL USB Modem
Dynalink PCI ADSL modem .
ITEX chipset, PCI connection, up to 7Mbps downstream
and 640kbps upstream.
Comments Please............

You don't need an ADSL modem.
The Dynalink RTA020 Router works great for PPPOE (Telstra, TPG, etc) although I have had unresolved issues with PPPOA (Ozemail).
Askey (Dynalink) also has excellent Tech support in Australia - good people.
I hope this helps ....
Geoff.

Can comment on the others but I have been using the -
D-Link ADSL modem DSL-300+ Ethernet External
with Mitel server 5.5 B2 PPPoE to the ISP and it all works
very nicely.

The only ADSL modems currently supported are external ethernet ones.

You *do* need an ADSL modem.

In that case, the RTA020 has a built-in ADSL modem.
If you search these boards, you'll find all sorts of problems with port and protocol forwarding and dynamic DNS when cable/DSL routers are used. Using a simple ADSL modem and the built-in features of the SME software is the best bet for avoiding any of these problems.

Thanks, Charlie, that clarifies a couple of things for me.
TPG supply a static IP address along with the RTA020 in 'bridged' mode and it has been very stable and successful with two SME email/gateway servers.
Sorry if my comments mislead anyone.
Geoff.
