Title: upgrade problem
Post by: Alo on December 13, 2002, 09:48:23 AM
Hi

I tried to upgrade from 5.0 to 5.5 and the installer failed to read a kernel*.rpm file from installmedia. I decided to continue on the next day and.... I made a huge mistake, I rebooted! :(

As I try to boot from hard disk, I get "LI", and that's all. When booting from new installmedia, I get:

--------
The installer found a previous installation, that might be a Mitel Networks SME Server installation, but encountered the following error:

One of the filesystems for your Linux system was not unmounted
cleanly.  Please boot your linux installation, let the filesystems be
checked, and shutdown cleanly to upgrade.
--------

Fdisk /dev/hda gives me:

"You will not be able to write the partition table.
 Unable to read /dev/hda"

During the booting, it finds /dev/hda, though..

Any suggestions?

I made a fresh install to this machine, so there is no problem anymore.
