Title: HDD Power Down
Post by: crush on December 14, 2002, 09:23:29 PM
Hello

My HDD is running all the time (24h). Isn't it possible to power down the disk automaticly after 3-5 min non working? (Sleep or Stand-by Mode).
And how can I reach this?

Server Disks Should Never Sleep

Yep, you won't want the delay everytime it needs to be accessed.  In the long run, a hard drive will last longer if it's never shutdown anyway.

While I'm sure the preceeding comments are valid opinions, can anyone answer the question that was posed?

it may be an option in the bios
