Title: Can't see virtual domains
Post by: Kenn Nesbitt on December 24, 2002, 03:04:35 AM
I modified 05Port and 35Listen80 in templates-custom so apache is listening on port 8180.  (Changed the "80" to "8180" in both files and expanded the template.)

I have two domain names pointing to the same IP, and my router forwards port 8180 to the e-smith box.

I have set up a primary web site, plus an ibay and virtual domain for the second domain name.  The virtual domain correctly points to the ibay.

However, if I go to http://www.myprimary.com:8180 it works as expected, but if I go to http://www.myvirtual.com:8180, it displays the primary domain, not the ibay I specified for the virtual domain.

Any ideas why this would be and what I can do about it?

It never fails.  You always figure it out 5 minutes AFTER you ask for help.  I solved the problem by also customizing 80VirtualHosts and 80NameVirtualHosts.

Are you using SME 5.5 or an older version...

I´d like how to do this (httpd port redirection) for SME 5.5

Thanks!

I have tried this for port 8080 and I can see my page from the local network but not from the outside world. I assume the port must be closed. How do I open it? (SME 5.5)
