Title: restore backup from 5.1.2 to 5.5

Hello

Can anyone advise if it is possible to backup to destop from 5.1.2 and restore config files etc to an install of  5.5?

yes it will work ! I updated becasue of problems caused by a power outage . I was unable to access my webpage of webmail and decided that now would be a good time to update . I preformed a backup ( which I later found out it even kept the messed up setting for my webpage and webmail access so yet again i did not have webmail access)to my desktop and updated the system  verified that my webmail and webpage access was okay and then did a restore and it worked but was doing the exact same thing it was doing before the upgrade. So as long as your system is in tip top shape when you do your backup you should not have any issues

Yes it worked perfectly.

The only thing we did not get was the contribs installed. We will have to reinstall manually.
