I read this from E-SMith/Mitel's User guide.
Mitel Networks Corporation has tested four dynamic DNS services, of which two are free services and two are commercial services: yi.org (free), dyndns.com (commercial), tzo.com (commercial) and dyndns.org (free). For simplicity, we have preprogrammed the server to work with these services (including pre-installing their client software).
What Dynamic DNS Service company do you folks recommend?
My domain name is currently with another company that offers Dynamic DNS Services, but since I am no longer using their Server/Gateway Linux distro, I won't be able to use their services and therefore I need to move my domain to somewhere.
Any recommendations is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I've been using EasyDNS for years and recommend it. Works fine with a SME server. Darrell (myezserver.com) has an rpm available for installing ez-ipupdate on SME.
Note - This is a pay service.

Have had no problems with either zoneedit or dyndns. If you want to use your own domain name, zoneedit has a free service up to a point but dyndns requires a one time payment. You will need to add in a client update program (search the forums) to update these services. I personally use ddclient and it works for both zoneedit and dyndns's custom dns service.

Mary...
I also use dns2go and have paid for it. I've been using it successfully for sometime now with my own built/installed/cfg'd linux boxes (redhat & mandrake), but I'm now looking at using an SME (5.6) machine to handle my gateway needs. Mind if I ask what/how you did to install it (dns2go) on the e-smith box? Anything to look out for? Any special requirements? I'm really new to e-smith and it uses (apparently) lots 'o templates when building/cgf'ing 'stuff'...
... or do I just grab the RH 7.3 dns2go installer and install it in the typical fashion per deerfields web site? ( add a line to rc.local to auto-start it )
Thanks in advance!
