Title: .mp3 not streaming
Post by: RayG on January 12, 2003, 07:55:23 AM
When I first set up my SME 5.1.2 server/gateway, I also installed the mp3 jukebox described in one of the contributed how-to's. The install went as described in the how-to and both 'fetch' and 'stream' options worked. A few weeks later I noticed a blade for the jukebox and installed it assuming it was an upgrade. After doing that, 'stream' no longer works. On my Macintosh, the music never starts playing. On the PC, Windows Media Player complains about bad data but doesn't provide any usefull information.

I removed the blade and reinstalled the version described in the how-to but streaming still didn't work.

I've since installed netjuke, which looks to be a much nicer package, but streaming doesn't work with it either.

Any suggestions ?

Have you tried installing winamp and using that instead of media player?  I haven't had much success with WMP.

I have tried WMP 8 and 9. No luck either. I just play my mp3s with WMP by going through my network places.

On my mac its a different story. When I click play - I download a m3u file to my desktop. I just click on that file and presto itunes is streaming from my SME.
