Title: mount mac osx volumes for backup

I read the how to on using a disk instead of tape for backup to a HD on my network.
I've mounted a firewire disk on my OSX 10.2.3 G4, created a symbolic link to it in the Public folder.
How do I mount it in e-smith ala smb on PCs
