Title: any issues installing OpenSSL 0.9.7?
Post by: G Sissala on January 15, 2003, 07:08:06 PM
I've been informed by my isp that my 5.0 installation of SME has the slapper virus/worm.  I am going to upgrade to 5.5 with the upgrade 2 pack, but I noticed that to protect myself from being reinfested I need to upgrade to openssl 0.9.6e or better, but the upgrade pack is only 0.9.6b.

Are there any know issues of upgrading to 0.9.7 on the SME 5.5?

You do *not* need to upgrade to openssl 0.9.6e. RedHat have applied the various fixes and released a patched version of 0.9.6b which is not succeptible to the problems. This update is included in  5.5 Upgrade 2.
