Title: LDAP Java tool
Post by: Matt Quelch on January 17, 2003, 02:25:23 PM
Hi Johan, et al...

When you select the connect button you can fill in all of your server's details. If you use the save button at the bottom, it makes life easier!

To logon to the LDAP server with Read/Write permission, you have to logon as the manager. To do this set the security level to User + Password, then set the User DN to: cn=root,dc=xxxx,dc=xxx. Then enter the password from the slapd.conf file. Then you should be able to log on with Read/Write ability.

You can create your own HTML templates for viewing/editing entries if you like too!

Hi Knut,

The great slapd.conf file is to be found in /etc/openldap/, also on the e-smith server the template copy (this is the one you should edit...) is found in /etc/e-smith/templates/etc/openldap/

Matt
