A long time ago I set up a test server and now I want to use it. Unfortunately, I have forgotten the password for the admin. Short of reinstalling, is there any way to change or reveal the password?
Thanks

Hello Dave,
Hit CTL-X when the E-Smith graphic's comes up.
This puts it into lilo text input mode.
Type as follow:
esmith single
This boots e-smith into single user mode.
This logs you on without a root password but with SU powers!
Now type
passwd root
Now enter the new root password and confirm.
Then type
init 7
Then you can also change the admin password
passwd admin
Good luck
Johan
