Hi everyone,
I was thinking of using Dan Brown's rpms to upgrade from IMP 3.0 to 3.1. Have any of you done this? Is this just a simple rpm upgrade or did you have any problems.
I would like to hear success stories or how you dealt with any problems you encountered.
thanks in advance.

It seems to work pretty well for me. The only thing you might need to change is the reply_quote setting--search here for more information.

I'm trying to update a 5.5 update2 system.
I get a failed dependency:
[root@server2 imp_upgrade]# rpm -Uvh *.rpm
error: failed dependencies:
e-smith-horde >= 1.4.13-01 is needed by SMEServer-5.5_Update2-10
[root@server2 imp_upgrade]# rpm -q imp
imp-3.0-4es
Any thoughts?? I don't know what the differences are, but I hate to do a "--replacepkgs" since the existing seems to be a later version.
Thanks,
Abe

Just install the horde/imp RPMs, and not the e-smith-horde and e-smith-imp.

Dan,
thanks for your quick reply! I will give it a shot.

Once I installed the rpm's, I had to expand all of the templates individually and restart apache, before it would let me login.
Probably could have done a "/sbin/e-smith/signal-event console-save" to expand all the templates, but I just did them individually.
Hope that helps.
