Title: Streaming MP3 within NetJuke
Post by: Frank van den Bergh on February 03, 2003, 07:54:56 PM
Hi to All,

I installed NetJuke. Everything works, except when a user wants to listen to an mp3 from the internal MS Internet Browser media player. It works with Realaudio. I receive a cannot open file message.

I expect a simular solution like http://forums.contribs.org/index.php?topic=13595.msg51615#msg51615. However that one handled the Appache server.

Please help me with this problem,

Frank van den Bergh.

Login to netjuke with admin username and password.  The click ADMIN and under SYSTEM ADMINISTRATION click PREFERENCE FILE. Scorll down to CONTENT PREFERENCES and see if Protect Media or Real Player box is checked.  If they are, uncheck them and that should work.
I uncheck and it works with Windows Media Player, Winamp and Real Player.  I also noticed that Windows Media 9 seems to work best for remote users.  Less buffering.

Cheers,

Jehu.

Hi Jehu,

Thanks for your quick response. I can't test your suggestions before wednesday, but these options were unticked. And I tested it with one of these ticked.

Like I said it works with RealPlayer, but not with Windows Media Player. I forgot to tell I have a Workgroup MSE within a current NT domain, without a network connection (a pure server). In the answer I was reffering to (which actually works) the solution was to use a StreamBase with a static IP.

Frank.
