Dear All,
I've down loaded v5.6 on 4 ocassions using cuteftp from 4 different ftp servers. On each ocassion the checksum (md5...) failed. I still burned one of the iso's but it gave up halfway through installation and rightly(!) complained of a corrupt CD - ie it agreed with the checksum!
What's going wrong? Any ideas. It is downloaded via broadband and a Symantec WS proxy server running on windoze 2000 . (Not my choice)
Help
TIA

I downloaded 5.6 iso from the e-smith ftp site just a few days ago using plain jane Win98SE and IE 5.5 on a ADSL connection. Checked the md5sum was OK, burnt a disk and it works fine.
Corruptions generally occur during the download process, so I would definitely use a different method and server as well.
It's no use burning a CD if the md5sum is not correct, the CD will never work.

See my case:
I downloaded an ISO to a Linux (e-smith) box using WGET...
checked the checksum with md5sum and it is OK..
Then I move -using winscp- the ISO file to my win2000 box (so I can burn a new cd). Guess what! before I start burning I run an md5sum and the file is wrong!
