Title: Hard Disk size
Post by: del on February 25, 2003, 07:23:08 AM
A quick question, will SME 5.6 install on a Maxtor 60Gig HDD, what is the largest HDD that SME 5.6 will recognize?
Thanks in advance.

There's no limit on HD size in SME.  Your MB/BIOS might have issues, but that'd be it.

Hi,

I have a 3 gb hard drive currently installed, its only just used over 500mb, and that is with 6 users using imap with active messages, and no web pages.  You may want to concider whether 60 gb is overkill for the server.

Andrew.

I've got a two 1.2GB Drive in a RAID-1 configuration, 350MB Free space, serving about 50+ users and about 13+ domains.

60GB is a pretty large drive...

Well I've got two 120Gb drives in a RAID 1 configuration and SME 5.6 had no problems with those.  If you're having problems it's likely your BIOS.

Thanks for your comments. I have not yet tried the install so I will go ahead and try it. The 60gig is large, but the price was o low I just bought it!
Thanks again.
