Title: IBAYS
Post by: John Enerson on June 12, 2000, 08:23:11 AM
Hello,

I would like to know how IBAYS and virtual domains work. basically what I would like to do is have two domain names, each pointing to different places on the webserver. Can I do this just with IBAYS and virtual domains in the e-smith-manager?? And if so what information do I give concerning DNS? Do I need two IP addresses or can it be done with one?

-thanks

The only way I know of is to create an IB and use http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/yoursitename
as the address.  I have not experimented with virtual domains yet.  I installed my first e-smith about a week ago.
Cheers
Richard

Yes, as long as you are using the 4.0 beta release and not 3.1 which does not have this feature.

You need only one IP address, and the DNS for whichever virtual domains you wish to set up need to be set to resolve to that IP address.
