Hi,
When sending messages from clients or through Telnet it is very aparent that there is a lag from the end of the message entry (i.e, where the single . is entered) to the message being accepted with the single 250 code. This is very annoying as it keeps clients in limbo for around 10-20 seconds. I have installed Ezmlm and Amavis as the only modifications to the 5.6 server, is there any way I can trace what is happening at this point, and/or does anyone have any suggestions?
For reference the server is a p 133 with 32 mb of ram (should this be upgraded)?
Thanks,
Andrew.

Hi,
I have got round this problem now by reinstalling 5.6 and not installing the antivirus plugin from www.pagefault.org, though I would like to enable this again at some point.

The delay is due to amavis. ezmlm does its stuff after the mail is accepted.

Hi,
Thanks for this - this is what I thought. Is there any way of speeding up scanning of the email or postponing scanning to after the message has been accepted by my smtp server?
Andrew.
