Title: e-smith-nutUPS
Post by: vladmen on March 11, 2003, 06:34:53 PM
Just noticed that e-smith-nutUPS rpm was a part of the update 2. I looked around but could not figure out how to configure it.

I've been working on a howto for nut and e-smith but have found numerous problems with the way the e-smith-nutUPS package does things.

I have submitted bug reports to bugs@... but have not heard back on these yet.

I'm also updating the sysmon package to read the UPS data from nut or apcupsd.

Shad,

I have been trying to get my USB ups working unsucessfully.  I also noticed NUT and went to their web site.  They state that USB support is built in but only on an experimental basis.

I have a "Test Server" that I play with before I use anything on my production server and I also have 3 different UPSes.  1 serial and 2 USB.

I would like to help with this because I have noticed some people discussing USB UPSes.  I would like to offer some "testing" so to speak.  If I can help, please email me.

Thanks, Paul

I have tryied to setup a ACP UPS on USB using apcupsd, only the later releases support USB but I could not get it to work on my SME box the later releases are only development releases have a look at www.apcupsd.org
