Title: Console - menus - whiptail
Post by: Michael Regan on June 14, 2000, 08:29:32 AM
I am running version 3.1. The menu screen, /sbin/e-smith/console is runnning on both tty1 and tty2. Why? Can I safely shut down the version on tty2? ( Edit inittab )

Is there any way of password protecting access to the config and reboot menus from the /sbin/e-smith/console script?

How is whiptail different from dialog?

No, if you do that, it'll come back again some time in the future when inittab is generated again from its template. See http://www.e-smith.org/ for information about the e-smith template system.

e-smith 4 which is in late beta test has that as a standard option.

Sorry, you'll have to look at the source to find out :-) I'm
sure that whiptail is a derivative of dialog, but I'm not sure  what is different.
