Title: Printers show up as access denied
Post by: Andrew Hodgson on March 16, 2003, 01:30:43 PM
Hi,

I have some printers on my sme box and they all show up as access denied, but are able to receive documents.  I have logged onto the share as admin/admin password, and changed the nt permisions so that all groups had all access to printer, but still it says access denied when logged in normally.

Is this normal, if not, what else can I look at?

Thanks,
Andrew.

Andrew,

I suspect its normal because my printers also show access denied but print fine.

I've also experienced the same situation.  There seems to be a problem how Windows is polling the Linux-based printer port for status since the printer doesn't show up as a port.
