Hi all,
my account at my ISP = lixus010@worldonline.nl
My employer has registered a domainname called lixus.com and my primary alias for lixus010=p.kessen
now I have 3 other aliases at my provider. They are p.kessen@worldmail.nl
jkessen@worldmail.nl and duckdude@worldmail.nl
on my e-smith server I have the following accounts:
pkessen
jkessen
I have several forward files looking like:
.qmail-duckdude
.qmail-p.kessen
.qmail-j.kessen
.qmail-lixus010
What happens is that if someone sends mail to p.kessen@lixus.com, p.kessen@worldmail.nl, j.kessen@worlmail.nl or duckdude@worldmail.nl is that is delivered to lixus010 locally which is routed to my local account which is pkessen.
the userid to poll pop2 mail is lixus010 so I do see some logic here but I'd like mail sent to j.kessen@worldmail.nl directed to a local account called jkessen. duckdude@worldmail.nl should go to local account pkessen and p.kessen@lixus.com mail should also go to pkessen.
is there a clean way to deliver the j.kessen@worldmail.nl mail to the jkessen account with e-smith?

Hi Patrick!
Thanks for the post.
First of all, I'm assuming you are using multidrop mail as your email solution. (i.e. selected multidrop in the web based manager, etc.)
Each of your forward files should include a one line entry that is the account name to which email should be forwarded.
In your file named:
.qmail-j.kessen
there should be the one line entry:
jkessen
This will forward any mail that is dropped into the multidrop accuont and that is addressed to j.kessen to your account "jkessen" on the e-smith server.
Good luck!

Hi Kim,
yep, multidrop. I've got the forward files in place but the mail is all handled as if it's addressed to the lixus010 account. no mail arrives at the jkessen account.

Patrick,
The customization provided to you by Joe really should work. A faint hope is to doublecheck that there are no spaces or typos either in the account name or the forward file. :-) (grasping)
You might also want to check out Qmail documentation on-line at:

Good luck!
