Title: SME Gateway problem
Post by: Vic Tam on March 27, 2003, 03:49:07 PM
I am new to e-smith, I install 5.6 yesterday and eveything works great.

One thing I just noticed is that if the server is running for "sometimes" ( few hours maybe or more ), all the clients start cannot access external web pages even the internet access test on the server success.

All I need to do is reboot and everything works again.

Any idea?

Thanks in advance

You haven't by any chance got an Intel Network card in you machine have you?

Reason I say that is I had the same problem, replaced the card with a another make and all was well ever since.

Regards Paul.

I am using the onboard network card for external network and a realtek network card for internal network.

Just wondering the intel card you replaced is the for the internal network or external network?

By the way, I used to have a laptop have a similar problem and that was a intel card.

thanks

Check if power management enabled In the server's BIOS. If it is, disable it.
