Hi!
I've been using E-smith for some months now and in general it works great. I use the mailserver as an IMAP server and connect to it with the Apple Mail application that's included with Mac OS X (I'm running 10.2.4).
In the beginning everything worked perfect, but after reinstalling my OS I have a problem with deleted messages. I store all mail on the server, both received, sent and deleted mail. When I delete a message I want Mail to _move_ the message to the folder Deleted Messages. It worked fine with my old OS installation but with the new one it _copies_ the mail to the Deleted Messages folder _and_ marks the mail in the Inbox as Deleted. This keeps two copies of the deleted mails as it's located in both the Inbox (marked Deleted, so it's invisible) and the Deleted Messages folder.
Does anyone have an idea about what's happening here? It worked fine before, so I guess that it's some settings in the new OS that's wrong, but I just can't figure out what it is.
When I look inside the ".mailboxlist" file it contains this:
[root@mosx rfn]# more .mailboxlist
Mail/Vigtige mails
Mail/ADC
Mail/Versiontracker
Mail/OmniWeb mails
Mail//Junk
Mail//Drafts
Mail/Deleted Messages
Mail/Drafts
Mail/drafts
Mail/Junk
Mail/Sent Messages
This looks fine to me, but I wonder what the double slashes in Mail//Junk and Mail//Drafts mean...
I hope someone can help me!
Regards,

I don't know what the exact problem is, but Outlook Express no longer automatically purges deleted messages for me also. http://forums.contribs.org/index.php?topic=6972.msg25270#msg25270 has some details.
