Title: Apple Mail and date/time
Post by: René Frej Nielsen on March 28, 2003, 01:08:06 AM
Hi!

I'm using Apple's Mail application to access my IMAP account on my E-smith 5.5 server. I have a problem with the timestamp of the messages. The time that Mail shows in the list of mails is the time that Mail has recieved them and _not_ when they were actually sent. I can see the correct time in the body of the mail, but it's annoying that the time I see in the list is wrong.

Is there any way to "apply" the right time to the IMAP messages?

Regards,

This bug was fixed in SME 5.6.

Hi!

That sounds great. I have been holding off with the upgrade from 5.5 since the server runs just fine in all other aspects, but I guess the time has come.

Thanks for you help.

The other option would be to upgrade to a better IMAP server like courier-imap.  Michael Weinberger has put together RPMs of courier-imap for SME 5.5 (and other versions).

What would the advantage be? I mean, other than a few quirks I think it runs very fine and it's easy to setup.

If I installed another IMAP server, would I then  still be able to backup the files through the webinterface?
