Title: IPSEC
Post by: Cas on March 28, 2003, 02:03:43 AM
Can someone tell me if 5.5 will allow me to setup a ipsec-tunnel to the outside world ? I have a client on my pc (behind 5.5) and would like to setup a tunnel to my work. So all i need is pass-through.
Have not been able to find a clear answer sofar.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Thanks,

Cas

I believe 5.5 supports IPSec masqing if you want to connect from a PC behind the SME. If you want the SME to make the connection, look at the FreeS/WAN HowTo.

I am using the Nortel Extranet client successfully through all versions since 4.1.2. I have seen others mentioned as well.

Please read the FAQ and search the forums (make sure you look for more than 30 days - the default). This has been covered many, many times.

Good Luck

Thanks for your input. It does work without any problems. It appeared that there was a problem on the other end and ofcourse they blamed it initially on my sme-box.
