Try not to laugh too hard ...
I can't install sme 5.6 for the life of me. I downloaded the iso, burned to a cd, selected boot from cd in my bios, and it wont recognize the disk as a bootable cd. I have no idea what i did wrong. Can someone please explain just exactly what I need to do? I know my computer meets the requirements, so thats not an issue. Somewhere I must of messed up....any help is greatly appreciated!!!!
Thanks,
Jon

could be a bad disk
try it in another computer and see if it boots (stop before it actually installs and wipes the hard disk)

Jonny,
Did you burn the ISO as a file to the CD or did you use burning software that turned the ISO into a bootable CD?
You can tell by looking at the CD. If there is one BIG file on the CD, then you did it wrong.
Go here for instructions on how to burn an ISO properly:

Good Luck,
Paul

Well, as a newbie I may lead you astray but...
I discovered that the default setting of my CD burner was not "CD master", meaning it did not write a boot segment on burning the image. The default setting worked fine for my kids music CDs. What faked me out was that the CD directories and contents could be seen when loaded under Windows or MacOS X.
Once I changed the burn preference, the CD was recoginized by the target machine and the install completed normally.
Hope this helps.
