Title: Accessing LDAP from Mozilla
Post by: Alex Schaft on April 16, 2003, 12:01:32 PM
Hi,

I had this set up before, but for some reason the exact config for the LDAP directory from Mozilla is eluding me.

How does one translae dc=quicksoftware,dc=co,dc=za into something valid in the Mozilla base dn?

Alex

That's what I have, "dc=domain,dc=com". I have no clue if ".co.za"-style names would be done differently though.

It seems to work from the address book, but any queries when typing in an address when composing a new message brings up ldap connection failed.

I'll check with the Mozilla crowd.

Hi there

I have just downloaded the latest build of mozilla and set up a LDAP connection in Address Book to my E-smith 5.6 development server and it works just fine for searching. Config is as follows:

Name:                       LDAP connection name
Hostname:                IP or server hostname
Base DN:                 dc=domain,dc=com
Port Number:           389 for standard connection
Bind DN:                   Leave it blank to bind anonymously, this allows                                          simple searching capabilities

This should not give you any problems and if it does please post something and I will try to assist further with any questions whatsoever!!

Cheers and till the next posting
