Title: Remote Support
Post by: Ashley on April 24, 2003, 10:19:45 AM
I would like to administrator several servers ranging from versions 4.2-5.6 from my office.  I will be upgrading all to version 5.6 soon.

I can ping each server but can't ssh or https or http into them.  There is a firewall at the office where I work and at each location which I don't have access to look at configuration, but I don't think that is where the problem is.  I am guessing I haven't setup the remote access page correctly.  I have windows 2000 to administrator the servers from.

Can someone please point me in the right direction.  Thank You.

kind regards,

Ashley

I'd guess that it probably is the firewall. There's not much to setup on the SME. Turn it on, choose how many connections to allow, and optionally add IP addresses allowed to access the Server Manager. See http://mirror.contribs.org/smeserver/contribs/btalcott/howto/allowremoteSSLaccess.html for instructions on that for pre-5.5.
