Title: dialin to SME5.6
Post by: steve on April 24, 2003, 08:27:34 PM
Being a newbie, I have recently successfully installed SME 5.6 + Update etc...initially on a private LAN, now using broadband Internet access. However, due to my work, I would like to be able to dial in to the server directly (laptop + analogue modem) from more-or-less anywhere, since I don't always have Internet access. I can't seem to get the remote access services on the server to recognize the serial port/modem setup...is this generally possible? (I am am aware of the security issues and intend to limit this to a specific user...namely only me.) I have tried checking the FAQ's, contribs etc but there seems little info on this topic...

Thanx in advance for any pointers....
Steve D

Hi there...

Thanks for the pointer...now for getting the redhat rpm but that looks like it'll be fairly straight-forward...I had actually tried looking in the contribs  but I now realise that the search has to be done right...(sorry, my mistake)
Many thanks again...Steve
