Title: HD-LED is flashing
Post by: sixxxeight on May 03, 2003, 11:46:16 PM
I use a SME 5.6 (Update 2) as DSL-Router on an P233 / 64 MB Ram.
The HD-LED is flashing in interrupts between 2 and 5 sec.
But I want that the HD is going to sleep after a while.
All other PC in the Network are down.
What's the reason and what can I do ???
I've tried to upgrade the System to 128 MB but there in no differend.

Is it a newly installed system with RAID drives ? They may be busy syncing, if they are big it can take 7 hours or more..

There is only one 6GB HD installed.
I have an other SME-System with a 3 (40GB) HD SW-Raid 5.
On this Systen HD-Powerdown is possible.

Could it be the journaled file system of 5.6 keeping itself flushed?

may be...
bút I don't know , 'cause I'm an absolute Linux-Rooky   : (
I've find out that my 2nd SME (without Routermode) do the same, but only on the first HD (there are another 3 HD's for SW-Raid 5).
