Title: Quicktime streaming server on e-Smith and almost working.
Post by: Ásgeir Ásgeirsson on May 17, 2003, 03:28:33 PM
I have sucessfully installed streaming server (quicktime/darwin) in a e-bay on my e-smith.  The problem seem to be some perhaps port config or something like that.  This is actually quite cool, since it works 90%.  You can download the tar from www.darwin.org and select streaming server.  After you install it into an e-bay, you can access it by going http://myservername.com:1220.
The only thing is that the streaming part does not seem to function due to some minor error, since I have tested this on RH8 and it works there with no firewall enabled.  So, any ideas???

Sure would be nice to know what that "minor error" was, or at least some kind of error code so we can help you ;)

did you manage to get this working in the end? I'm intersted in a video streaming solution for my 5.6 server.

thanks for the info, but it's no good to me as I'm trying to serve up video streams from my SME box to the internet i.e. web browsers. i will check out ffserver but what i really need is darwin streaming server - i may have to rebuild my sme to redhat...
